Information Bulletin Number Two

Invitation:
Aeroclub of Czech Republic and Association of Modellers of Czech Republic are pleased to invite all National Aeroclubs affiliated with the Federation Aeronautique Internationale to participate in the Electric Flight World Championships for F5B and F5D classes and the World Electric Aeromodelling Games.

Date: August 18th to 24th, 1996

Location: Sporting airfield Benešov, which is near the town Benešov, approximately 45 km south from Prague on the road from Prague to Linz.

Climate: Temperate continental climate, temperature average 18oC to 28o C.

Events: The events are to be World Championships for the classes F5B and F5D, individual and team classification for juniors and seniors. A competitor is considered to be a junior throughtout the year in which he attains the age of 18.
There will also be the World Electric Aeromodelling Games prior to the World Championships.

Rules: The World Championships classes will be flown to the rules of the FAI Sporting Code (1993), sections 4b and 4c. For the local rules see Appendix A.

Participation: Every FAI affiliated national aeroclub may enter a team of three competitors and a team manager for each event. The helper for F5D class will not be considered to be a team member, will not be required to pay the competitor entry fee and will not be eligible for an award. The individual World Champions, Jerry Bridgeman (F5B) and Florian Schambeck (F5D), are also invited to participate.
Each competitor, official helper and team manager must have a valid FAI Sporting Licence, which must be presented during registration.

Official Language: The official language shall be English and Czech.

FAI Jury: Mr. Cal Ettel, USA; Mr. Dieter König, Germany, Mr. Otakar Šaffek, Czech Republic, Mr. Emil Giezendanner, Switzerland (Reserve Member).

Organisers: The Championships are organised by a Special Subcommittee of the Club of Aeromodellers of Czech Republic: Mr. Vladimír Hadač (Chairman), Mr. Tomáš Bartovský, Mr. Jan Olšanský, Mr. Jaroslav Suchomel, Mr. Karel Zika.

Entries: It is requested that entry applications are submitted in two stages:
1) A preliminary entry in order to establish the probable number of competitors in each of F5B and F5D. The organisers request that these entries be submitted no later than April 15th, 1996. 2) Official entries are submitted on or before June 15th, 1996.

Entry fees: The entry fee for the F5B World Championship event is SFR 300.- per competitor for seniors and SFR 100.- per competitors for juniors.
The entry fee for the F5D World Championship event is SFR 300.- per competitor and SFR 100.- per competitors for juniors.
The fee for official helpers (including F5D) and supporters is SFR 60.- per person Participation package consist of identification tag, access to flying site, sighseeing tour to Prague Castle, souvenirs and information brochures.
Methods of remitting fees will be included in Bulletin Number Three, which will be issued only to National Aeroclubs returning the preliminary entry form.

Protest Fee: The protest fee is 40.- SFR

Trophies and awards: FAI Medals and diplomas will be awarded to competitors in the first, second and third places in individual classification and winner of team classification in the F5B and F5D World Championships for juniors and seniors separately.

Transportation: Arrival at Prague or Frankfurt/Main (Germany) international airport for overseas participants is recommended. From both international airport charter flight to Benešov is possible. The use of rental cars is possible. Model boxes will be transported from Prague airport to Benešov if requested in advance.

Entry to Czech Republic: Residents of most countries do not need entry visas to Czech Republic, but we suggest that you check this with your travel agent.

Banquet: SFR 35.- per person

Electricity: 220 - 240 V AC, 50 Hz available

Batteries: Charged 12 volt batteries will be available for competitors to be used at the competition site.

Currency: Czech Crown (Kč) which subdivides into 100 heller (hal.).

Accomodation: a) Institute for Local Administration in Benešov (double rooms with WC and shower; sauna etc.), 7 km from airfield
Cost per person and one night 350 Kč (approx. 16.- SFR)

b) Motel Konopiště (single and double rooms with WC and shower, breakfast), 8 km from airfield
Cost per person and one night single 1390 Kč (approx. 62.- SFR)/double 895 Kč (approx. 40.- SFR)

c) Camping at the airfield (WC, shower, 220 V) Cost per person and one night 60 Kč (approx. 3.- SFR)

Meals: On airfield will be hangar-restaurant for participants of World Championships and World Electric Flight Games only. They will provide cooked breakfasts, lunches and dinners during the competition period (15th to 24th August).
On the Institute for Local Administration in Benešov is a fully licensed restaurant; they will provide breakfasts and dinners. You can purchase vouchers for all meals at hangar-restaurants or at Institute:

Breakfast (juice, eggs, cereal, sausages, bacon etc., toast, tea or coffee) 80 Kč (approx. 4.- SFR)

Lunch (schnitzel, chicken schnitzel, crumbled fish, chicken, beef stroganoff, fried rice etc., salad, tea, coffee)
