5.5.4.5. e) Add:
This taken to mean that the safety line, which is endless in both directions, may be crossed during launch and during the duration task, but must not be crossed after first counting crossing the Base A during all the distance task, during one minute preparing time for limbo before passing the gate. The Contest Director should use his discretion about take-off direction according to wind direction, taking care not to endanger anyone attempting Task B or any of the helpers.
5.5.4.5.f) Modification:
The pilot, his helper(s) and the team manager must remain at Base A until the distance part of his flight is completed. Nobody, other than the flagman can stay in the B line and give signals. (Minutes of the CIAM Plenary Meeting 1994, page 28)

5.5.3.1. The contest is a multi task event for RC electric powered motor gliders. There are two tasks that are executed without interruption in one flight: a) distance, b) duration and landing. A minimum of two flights must be flown. The total projected surface area of the model shall not be less than 36 dm2. The power source shall consist of not more than 10 (ten) cells. The weight of power source including insulation, cables and connectors shall not exceed 550 grams. In case the weight is to be taken this shall be done immediately after landing.

Local Rules for 1996 World Electric Aeromodelling Games
Big Glider Competition
A "Big glider" is a semi-scale model glider of at least 3700 mm wingspan. Launch is allowed by hand or with catapult.
The required period for a flight is a 10 minutes gliding time ( max. 60 sec motor run according of the decision of the competitor). One point per second will be deducted for each second of flight over 600 seconds.
Landing: After the completion of the flight within a 15 metre diameter circle scores 50 points, within a 30 metre diameter circle scores 25 points.
Sunrise-Sunset
This is a team event. The aim is, with the least number of launches, for each team to keep at least one model airborne between sunrise and sunset. Sunrise: 06:01, Sunset: 20:10. The team that can manage this with the lowest number of launches is the winner.
Scoring: Each launch of a model from a team shall be counted, even when the previous model is still flying. For each minute or part of a minute that a team has no model airborne, a penalty launch will be added to the score of that team. When a model is piloted by a non team member, the model shall be considered to be not flying, thus a penalty launch shall be added for every minute or part of a minute until the model is flown again by a team member or another model launched.
Teams: Each team shall consist of up to four pilots. The team can use a total of eight models, of which parts may be combined provided the resulting model conforms to the rules. Each team may be assisted by any number of helpers of which a maximum of four at a time are allowed on the flight line.
Models: The models are to conform to the general rules of electric powered models as per the sporting code sections 5.5.1.1, 5.5.1.2, 5.5.1.3 and 5.5.1.4. The power source shall consist of NiCd or NiMH cells only. A maximum of 30 cells may be used (5.5.1.3).
Frequencies: Each team is permitted a maximum of four frequencies. The first entries have the first rights to enter the contest and use the frequencies of their preference. Each team will nominate a team manager entitled to deal with the organisers in maters such as the frequency control. The organisers will inform the team manager which frequencies the team can use by 15th July.
Organisation of flights: For the starts will be marked starting line with positions for all teams (by draw). For the safety reason minimum altitude for crossing this starting line with model is 30 metres.
